The Original Selfie Stick with Wired Control Review
In my last post I did a review of this famous selfie stick from ReTrak and I had mentioned that there were three (3) flavors of this stick. The stick that was mentioned in the last post was the base model whose sole purpose was to provide a mechanism by which your smartphone can be positioned nearly three (3) feet away from you so you can take your favorite selfies with superstars, your grand mother and the like without having to give your precious electronic investment to some random total stranger who may “disappear” with your unlocked phone, drop it or simply take crappy photos and video of your precious once-in-a-lifetime moment with the Pope or Michael Jordan.
In this post I want to look at the mid-tier selfie stick which is essentially the base model with a wired remote control button that, when pressed, can take your selfie shots as well as start and stop your video recordings.
There is a little squiggly wire located at the top of the stick that is connected to a 3.5mm jack which is designed to be inserted into the audio jack of your smartphone.
On the handle of the stick there is an embedded rubber button with a little picture of a camera on it with the word “press” down below which you use to take those selfies and videos.
When not in use there is a little groove located by the 3.5mm jack that is designed to keep the jack in place so that it does not get caught in anything which would cause the wire to break.
All of these sticks also come with little attached wrist bands designed to keep your stick and phone from dropping on the ground or off of the side of the Grand Canyon when taking those family shots.
Some other cool features to note on this stick are the following:
- No batteries are needed.
- No bluetooth connectivity is needed.
- No Wi-Fi connection is required.
- No applications have to be installed on your phone.
- Can fit most phones like the iPhone 4 and 4S, iPhone 5 and 5S, Samsung S3, S4 and S5 and even large phones like the iPhone 6 Plus.
The wired control feature works on most of the popular smart phone platforms like Android, iOS etc. , makes a great gift idea and is very affordable too retailing for about twenty dollars or so.
