The Autodrive USB Flashdrive is a new way of looking at the conventional USB memory stick. The ones that I review in this blog post have a capacity of 8GB. If you like metal die cast cars and trucks, like those MatchBox ones for example and you also need ultra portable storage while on the go for your important documents and digital media, then you may want to take a look at these cute little gadgets. They are called Autodrive USB Flashdrives and they come in all types of vehicle models. I personally bought three of these for myself as I also like to collect innovative toys and gadgets. In case you are interested I do have a YouTube video down below at the end of this post where I do an unboxing and review of my Autodrive USB Flashdrive cars. The cars that I showcase are the following:
Looking at these cute little flashdrives in more detail, first off I will state that most (if not all) of the vehicles used are officially licensed from the original car manufacturer. As a result, there is a great amount of detail in the look and feel of each vehicle. All four wheels on each car to spin freely so you can actually play with these when they are not being used to transfer and store your latest Excel sheets and other multimedia.
All of the models have a working set of white LED headlights that serve as indicators when your flashdrive is connected to your computer. Normally the lights would indicate the following:
- Successfully connected to the computer via the USB port – the lights stay on solid white.
- Data transfer in progress – the lights will flash white.
Underneath each car there is a little slider button that you can use to extend and retract the USB plug that comes out and protrudes from the back of the vehicle. The little USB plug does lock into place when fully extended which makes it easy to plug into computer ports for data transfers.
These autodrive USB flashdrives are plug and play, so there is no need to install any drivers. You simply plug the devices into your computer and start using them right away. As far as hardware compatibility is concerned, these flashdrives do work with both Windows and Mac computers. The models that I have showcased in my YouTube video below have a capacity of 8GB each.
These Autodrive USB Flashdrives make excellent birthday, Christmas and even Father’s Day gifts. If you want to get your hands on these and start your own little collection, well you can get them from Amazon here. Have fun!
