The BMW Z4 GT3 RC car is a must-have for any RC enthusiast. If you own a real life BMW and you love motorsports this is the ideal toy for you.
There are a lot of radio controlled cars out there but what stands out with this particular one is the fact that it is a real licensed RC model of the famous BMW Z4 GT3 racing car.
This radio controlled model is for kids 8 and up. So if you are 8 years old or 80 years old, then no worries, you are authorized to drive this model car.
So let’s dig into the specifications. First off, it is a 1/18 scale of the real thing. The car is about 10 inches long, 4.5 inches wide and stands at a height of 2 and a half inches.
It comes with a nice-looking trigger remote control unit with a spongy steering wheel which has a spring mechanism that always ensures that the car drives in a straight line when you let go of the steering wheel. The throttle control is not a variable speed one so your model BMW Z4 GT3 just has only one speed. There is a power switch located on the top side of the controller and there is a red LED which indicates when the control is on or off. What I like about the controller is the fact that there is a compartment where you can actually store the antenna when not in use. The antenna itself when fully extended measures about 1 foot.
On the underside of the car there is a small steering adjustment switch which you can adjust when calibrating how well the vehicle drives in a straight line.
The controller is powered by a single 9 volt battery and this particular model communicates with the BMW Z4 GT3 RC car at a frequency of 49 megahertz. As with any standard remote control car you can drive this thing forwards and backwards and you can turn left and right.
What really makes this little radio controlled model stand out is its looks. Seeing that it is licensed by BMW you can rest assured that the detail is there. Inside the cockpit the detail is there where you can see the steering wheel, the driver’s seat and the dashboard and there is even a gas tank and gas tank feed pipe that you can see behind the front seats in the car. There is even a little red fire extinguisher located in front of the rear window. Nice.
The side mirrors are made of a rubber material which is great because they can take a number of hits without breaking off.
All of the race graphics and sponsorship decals are properly positioned on the outside of the car. You can even see the BMW logo to the front and rear of the vehicle very clearly. There is also great detail in the alloy rims, the brake shoes and pads on all four wheels. Even the side walls of the rubber tires have the manufacturer logo printed clearly on them.
The BMW Z4 GT3 RC car also has fully functioning front and rear LED lights.
The model car is rear wheel drive which is great for drifting and generally makes driving the car a lot more fun. Now, while there are no spring shocks on the rear wheels they are spring shocks on the front. Four (4) AA batteries are required to power a car.
When you’re not using this car it makes an excellent piece of eye candy while sitting on your desk at work or in your home office. It also makes an excellent gift for any car enthusiast.
The BMW Z4 GT3 RC Car retails for about $25.
In my opinion I would give this a 4.5 out of 5.
