The OGIO Renegade RSS 17 laptop backpack is the perfect bag for you gadget lovers who need to lug around all of your tech and stuff in a very comfortable, stylish and durable back pack.
This is the perfect backpack for you if you like to carry around all of your need to have electronics while on the go or if you are a photographer and you need all of your equipment in one bag or if you’re simply someone who simply has a lot of little knickknacks and you need a backpack that looks small and compact but, it can hold all of your things.
The Ogio Renegade RSS 17 laptop backpack can hold most 15-inch laptops. The laptop compartment is padded and it also is based on a special type of Technology called RSS which stands for Reactive Suspension System. The RSS is designed to cradle your expensive laptop against any shock damage if you happen to drop your bag onto the ground.
The Ogio Renegade RSS 17 laptop backpack has a lot of pockets, and I mean, a lot pockets. Starting at the top there is a crush resistant box pocket where you can store a typical point and shoot camera, or a set of car keys, memory sticks or even your very delicate pair of $200 Ray-Ban shades. It is perfect for storing those miniature and delicate odds and ends.
Just in front of the box pocket compartment, along the front of the backpack, there is a zippered compartment where you can store other small gadgets like a mini USB hub, portable passport sized hard drives and maybe even a mouse along with any other small gadgets.
Moving down the front of the bag in the middle compartment there is a zippered compartment designed especially for tablets and tablet accessories. I was able to store a full 12.3 inch Surface Pro 4 Tablet in there along with its power supply and other cables. In the illustration below, I am using an Apple iPad.
Now, the large pocket at the very front of the bag contains a small mesh pocket for other small gadgets (I am using an Apple mouse in this illustration), as well as a sleeve which is large enough to hold a passport and other documents. There is also a smaller zippered pocket on the inside to hold small things like coins, cash and USB sticks. There are also four pen holders which can be used to store pens and styluses.
If you need additional storage space there are two pockets on either side of the bag which are all zippered and are designed to hold things like smartphones, external battery packs, small point-and-shoot digital cameras and power supplies and cables.
One of the lower pockets also has an adjustable tether located on the inside of the side pocket which is designed to hold the top portion of your water bottle or flask.
Just when you thought that this bag could not hold anything else, well, you are in for a nice surprise. Along the center of the bag there is one huge secret compartment which is large enough to hold big objects like camera tripods or even some clothes if you’re traveling for a short trip. I was able to put in my gym clothes, a pair of running shoes and some other items in addition to a camera tripod in this pocket. It is huge.
On the left shoulder strap off the backpack there is another zippered compartment where you can hold a regular smartphone roughly the size of an Apple iPhone 5S. There is also a small hole at the top through which you can thread your headphone cables.
There is also a stabilization strap that connects the two shoulder straps that goes along the front of your chest. Seeing that none of us have the same shaped bodies, the designers at OGIO ensured that the strap can be easily adjusted by simply sliding it either up or down.
Now I have personally used my backpack for about 6 months now and I have put it through the rough and tumble treatment, and I must say that I’m impressed with the build quality of the bag as well as the strength and resiliency of the zippers.
What also surprised me was how comfortable the bag fell on my back thanks to the RSS technology when it was full of all of my favorite gadgets.
This is a must-have for anyone is tired of walking around with multiple bags for all of their stuff. If you want to get yourself your hands on one of these nice bags you can get it from Amazon here. You can also check out my full review on my YouTube channel below. Enjoy!
