Introduction
I saw the Super Fast Drift Legend AE86 RC Sports Car online when I was perusing the Amazon website and what got my immediate attention was that it was an AE86 drift model. Anyone familiar with import tuners would remember, back in the early days of drifting, the Toyota AE 86 was an icon in its class. The AE86 was a rear wheel drive tuner with a small, but powerful four cylinder engine that would often challenge the monster powered rear wheel drive cars like the Ford Mustang in drift competitions. I mean, the AE86 was truly in a class of its own with a lightweight chassis and small, powerful engine. Now you can relive those days for just under twenty bucks in a 1:24 scale model radio controlled version.
Target Market for This Product
The Super Fast Drift Legend AE86 R/C Sports Car is a very cheap and affordable toy designed for ages 3 and up that comes RTR (ready to race) right out of the box. In all honest even if you are a grown adult (such as me) and you are into RC models then I would recommend that you add this one to your arsenal.
What Comes In The Box
When you open the box you get:
– The 1:24 scale AE86 car with the drift wheels already installed. The drift wheels feel like smooth plastic and work best on smooth surfaces like tiled and hardwood floors.
– A spare set of wheels designed for racing. These are made of rubber.
– A 27 MHz dual stick radio control unit. One stick controls the throttle and direction (forwards and backwards) and there is only one speed. The other stick – the one on the right – controls the steering. There is an LED located in the middle of the controller that gives you the power status. The controller requires two (2) AA batteries. There is also a detachable antenna that extends for about a foot.
The Car In More Detail
The Super Fast Drift Legend AE86 RC Sports Car comes pre-assembled and ready to race. In fact it belongs more in the toy class as opposed to the more expensive hobby class of models. There are real spring shocks on the front wheels as well as an adjustable alignment switch on the underside of the car responsible for ensuring that your little tuner model drives nicely in a straight line when you are not trying to drift it on Gramdma’s nicely polished kitchen floors.
Although the real thing was rear wheel drive (which is perfect for drifting in the real world), this radio controlled model is all wheel drive. Don’t worry about not being able to drift this car though for it comes with four really slick and slippery plastic wheels that does the job of drifting very well. As a bonus, the manufacturers also through in a set of regular rubber wheels that can be easily swapped onto the car by the use of a mini Phillips screwdriver.
TheSuper Fast Drift Legend AE86 RC Sports Car also comes with a set of working LED headlights and tail lights. There are even a set of four LED lights located on the underside of the car that also give a very nice ground effect glow when you are driving this little floor rocket in poor to low light conditions.

For the price and what you are getting I think that you would get hours of driving and drifting fun. When not in use the Super Fast Drift Legend AE86 RC Sports Car can be a lovely piece of eye candy as it adorns your desk at the office. The car is also quite fast as well.
